Ceiling fan not working after power outage.
Every house is 120v the electrical companies sometimes give surges when repairing.
Occasionally when you lose power during a power outage the microcomputer may need to be reset.

When the power is returned to the fan the control unit will go to the default settings or may be scrambled.
As always use caution when working on your ceiling fan and turn the power off at the circuit breaker box to prevent any injuries.

Since the lights on the fan are still working this won t be an issue with the circuit breaker or the wires from the switch to the fan.
Most likely if it is just the fan it could be due to the power outage surge.
However it could be a loose connection inside the fan assembly.
That faq recommends to try skipping the receiver and wire the fan directly to a hot lead that way if the receiver is fried the fan will still turn.
