This wiring diagram illustrates the connections for a ceiling fan and light with two switches a speed controller for the fan and a dimmer for the lights.
Ceiling fan light connection.
Ceiling fan connection light wired to light switch fan on off with pull chain the wiring diagram above is for typical installation wiring light is switched the fan is powered by a pull chain once you have found and identified all of the wires on your fan and in your electrical box you can get to work on connecting them.
If your device does not have lights the same step applies.
Twist the copper ends together until they are securely connected to each other.
Connecting the neutral wires will complete the circuit in your fan.
Connect the white wire coming out of your ceiling to the white wire coming out of the top of the fan.
When completing your 4 wire ceiling fan switch wiring remember to connect the black wire to the unit s black and blue wires.
After hooking up all the wires tuck them back in the bracket and put the faceplate up.
You can also connect the blue wires or the blue to the black wire.
From the switches 3 wire cable runs to the ceiling outlet box.
The basic idea is that your power supply line is feeding both switches.
You may want to wear thick gloves to prevent yourself from getting cut on the copper.
The source is at the switches and the input of each is spliced to the black source wire with a wire nut.
Connect the red wire in the ceiling to the black wire in the light kit and the black wire in the ceiling to the black wire in the fan.
All that s left at this point is to tie together all the ground wires and neutral wires respectively.
Connect your white wires together and secure with wire nut.
